Chromebook-usbc.service failed

Hello all,

I just installed D12 bookworm on my Acer spin 714 (KANO) and everything is working great, besides the usb-c. I followed the post install instructions and systemd says the service fails to start due to “Module intel_pmx_mux is in use”. When I try to plug in a usb storage device, the laptop hard locks. Any ideas?

Thanks,

S

Did you try restarting your Chromebook after enabling the service?

Hey Raj,

Yes, both due to the aforementioned hard locks and normally while trying to diagnose the issue.

Thanks,

S

Well. I removed the service and it works. The hard locks are gone too. Does anyone know if this is included in the custom kernel patch that gets installed with the audio fix? Processor is an i5-1235u, so definitely and AlderLake. Anyway, I’m glad its fixed. Deb has made this think a nice little linux ultrabook, all for about $350. Nice.

Have a good day everyone,

S

@WeirdTreeThing does the debian kernel installed by your audio script make improvements to USB c?

no
