Shutdown and restart are working fine, but when I suspend the computer through the desktop or command line, the computer appears to shut off completely and doesn’t respond to the power button or any key presses. I have to hold the refresh key while pressing the power button to start it up again. I’ve tried changing from deep to s2idle and uninstalling the intel-media-driver package to no effect. I’m running CachyOS on UEFI full ROM replacement firmware. Any tips would be appreciated, I can provide more info if needed.
Turns out closing the lid suspends the Chromebook, but any other way of suspending it does not work. I get the feeling that it might be an OS issue and not a firmware issue because of this, but I’d have to look into it further
I switched to Ultramarine Linux and the issue is still present. Also the lid does work to suspend the laptop, but after a certain amount of time it shuts off and I need to hold the refresh key to start it up.
Turns out it was a firmware issue, see here for solution
save people a click: Use S3 suspend, not S0ix, in the UEFI Platform Settings
