Acpi_bios_error hp x2 soraka

After installing the UEFI (Full ROM) Firmware following the guide on mrchromebox.tech I’m getting the windows 11 acpi bios error when attempting to install. Attached is last screen before the “blah blah error we”re rebooting for you” screen.

Install media created with Rufus on SD card and also tried with USB stick. ISO downloaded directly from MS. Same issue over and over again. I’ve reran the firmware utility in attempt to update but it’s at most recent version. I did reinstall the firmware but no change. I was able to install FideOS successfully but want to try out windows 11. Searching has shown similar issues in the past that required a fix to the firmware… is this a new firmware bug perhaps? Is there any more info needed?

Thanks in advance for any help.

you can try disabling the IPU cameras in the UEFI Settings, but if that doesn’t fix it, you’ll need to get a test build with the camera ACPI fixed

Thank you for the response. I disabled the IPU camera as suggested. It definitely hangs on the “starting Microsoft windows bootmgr” but never advances…

  1. how do I request a custom build?

  2. Should I enable the IPU camera setting?

Thanks again!

no, it’s not. it’s crashing parsing the ACPI tables, hence the ACPI_BIOS_ERROR

  1. email or msg me on Discord
  2. doesn’t matter, the setting won’t exist on the new build
